Kuwaiti, Egyptian held for robbing expats in cop garb

KUWAIT CITY, May 8: Police have arrested two people - a Kuwaiti and an Egyptian - at two different locations for impersonating police and robbing Asians, reports Al-Qabas daily. The Kuwaiti was arrested by the Farwaniya police in Khaitan for robbing expatriates.

The Egyptian was initially arrested for violating traffic law and when police approached the man, they saw him wearing police uniform. During interrogation he fumbled with the answers and later admitted to impersonating police. Both men have been handed over to the concerned authorities.

Abandoned cars seized: The Public Hygiene and Roads Administration Department at the Kuwait Municipality, Farwaniya Branch in cooperation with the Abdullah Al-Mubarak Center launched a campaign in the area and ‘seized’ cars abandoned in Abdullah Al-Mubarak and Sulaibiya, reports Al- Rai daily. The supervisor of the center Faleh Khalid Al-Mutairi said this campaign came in the framework of continuous campaigns which are being organized by the administration in all areas to remove all obstacles from roads and maintain cleanliness. During the campaign 14 abandoned cars have been moved to the Municipality garage. The owners of vehicles have been requested by the authorities to protect their property, if not, they will be subjected to legal measures.
