Fresh arrest in robbery, murder of Indian guards Syrian implicates at-large Bedoun

KUWAIT CITY, May 8: Nearly 14 days after the armed robbery incident that took place in the vegetable market at Sulaibiya, in which two Indian guards working for a money transportation company were shot and killed, Jahra securitymen have arrested another suspect, a Syrian, who confessed during investigation he perpetrated the crime along with a Bedoun whom security sources said is still at large.

Sources disclosed to Al-Seyassah daily that security operatives in the past 13 days have been hunting for suspects in the incident in which two Asian workers assigned in the bullion van of a money transportation company died after armed robbers attacked them and took possession of a bag containing KD 13,000 - sale proceeds of the Vegetable Market in Kabad, noting 30 suspects have been arrested so far in connection with the case.

Security sources said the Syrian expatriate in the police custody was involved in a shooting incident at a wedding ceremony in Sulaibiya and he confessed his involvement in the armed robbery, naming the Bedoun as his accomplice. He indicated they had burnt the vehicle after the crime, while his friend escaped with the equipment they used. High ranking security officials have been assigned to trail the suspect.
