‘Life-saving’ medicines seized

KUWAIT CITY, May 6: An Iranian expatriate was arrested at Doha Port for attempting to smuggle medicines out of Kuwait for treating heart diseases and diabetes, and other subsidized materials obtained using ration cards, which are not allowed to be exported. According to sources, Doha customs officers suspected the Iranian and checked his luggage to find these items, which are subsidized by the government. He was referred with the confiscated items to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against him.

Meanwhile, a Kuwaiti citizen was injured in a two-collision accident on Mohamed bin Qassem Street opposite Ishbiliya. Security sources said the Operations Room of the Interior Ministry was notified about the accident and dispatched a team of rescue men to the location. The injured citizen was referred to the Farwaniya Hospital for treatment, while traffic men organized the traffic. A case was registered.
