Assembly observer urges MoI to intensify security checking Kuwait witnessing increasing number of crimes: Al-Huraiji

 KUWAIT CITY, May 5: National Assembly observer Saud Al-Huraiji has urged Ministry of Interior and other concerned authorities to intensify security checking in all areas, ensure all public places are monitored and accelerate the procedures for the arrest of criminals for preserving the security of the society, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

He stressed that the country has been witnessing increasing number of theft crimes including the recent two incidents that occurred consecutively in Jahra area, insisting that the increase in crimes necessitates increase in security efforts and precautionary measures through the establishment of a comprehensive plan along with cooperation among all concerned authorities to apply essential solutions for controlling the situation.

Meanwhile, MP Kamel Al-Awadhi submitted a draft law for adding articles 194, 194A and 194B to Law 16/1960, reports Al-Anba daily. He elaborated that Article 194 provides definition of ‘sexual harassment’, the parts involved and affected in this act while Article 194A is related to the sanctions against the perpetrators of this act, which is jail term of not less than two years and fine of KD 5,000. According to Article 194B, the aforementioned sanctions supersede those specified in Articles 180, 186, 191 and 192 of the same law in case they are applied.
