20 Expats to be deported

KUWAIT CITY, April 30: The Tripartite Committee comprising members from the ministries of Interior, Social Affairs and Labor, and Commerce and Industry, is said to have endorsed the deportation of 20 expatriates who were caught in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and working for others rather than their sponsors, reports Al-Anba daily. According to security sources persons caught by members of this committee are immediately referred to the Deportation Centre and that the decision of the committee is final.

Maid accused: A GCC citizen has filed a complaint with the police accusing her Nepali housemaid of causing injury to his six-yearold daughter by hitting her with her pointed shoe on her sensitive part, reports Al-Rai daily. The father has submitted a medical report which showed she is suffering from bleeding. During interrogation the maid admitted to beating the girl but denied causing her injury.

Imposter arrested: The Hawalli police have arrested a former non-commissioned officer working for the Special Forces department for impersonating police and robbing expatriates, reports Al-Anba daily. Police reportedly doubled their efforts after receiving several complaints from the victims and caught the suspect in the act while attempting to rob Asians in Mahboula In the man’s car police found IDs and ATM cards of some of the complainants. It has been reported the suspect was wanted by law in connection with several charges. The man was reportedly picked by victims from a legal lineup.
