Filipina and 2 Egyptians embezzle KD 22,000 Masked thieves strike co-op

KUWAIT CITY, April 30: Six masked men, carrying sharp objects and knives, stole KD1,750 and telephone cards worth KD1,000 from Rehab Cooperative Society. Officers from a nearby police station rushed to the location after receiving information on the incident from two employees at the cooperative society.

They lifted fingerprints to identify the culprits. During interrogation, officials of the cooperative told the securitymen that the suspects entered the premises and pointed sharp objects and knives at some of the employees. They took KD1,750 from the cash registers and telephone cards valued at KD1,000. They then fled from the scene using a pick-up truck.

The officials provided police with the plate number of the truck which turned out to be stolen. A case was registered and investigation is in progress to arrest the thieves.

Meanwhile, the manager of a supermarket company has filed a complaint with the Fahaheel Police Station accusing three people — a Filipino woman and two Egyptian men - of embezzling KD 22,000, reports Al-Anba daily. The embezzlement was discovered by the auditors and during interrogation the Filipina is said to have admitted to sharing the money with the two Egyptians. The daily gave no more details.
