Three Kuwaiti women blackmailed

KUWAIT CITY, April 28: Three Kuwaiti women have filed a complaint with the Criminal Investigation Department against an unidentified person who is allegedly threatening to publish their pictures on the social networking website because they refused to give him KD 2,000, reports Al-Rai daily. In their complaint the women said the threat was issued to them by an unknown person who had sent them pictures from his cell phone.

The ecrimes department of the Ministry of Interior used the GPS technology to track the suspect and picked him from an unidentified café. Following his arrest, he turned out to be a criminal and was wanted by law. He then guided police to an unidentified woman, who had befriended recently, who gave him the pictures of the women. Both persons have been referred to the authorities.

Fugitive arrested: Police have arrested an unidentified bedoun fugitive who was wanted by law to serve a 15-year prison term, reports Al-Rai daily. A security source said the suspect was arrested when he arrived at the Adan Hospital with two Kuwaiti friends whose condition had worsened after consuming an overdose of drugs. The daily added, one of the friends fearing arrest escaped from the scene while the other was unable to move because his condition had deteriorated. Acting on information police rushed to the hospital and while checking their names in the system, police discovered the bedoun had earlier been sentenced in absentia to 15 years imprisonment.
