Maid complains of torture Citizen wanted in crimes held

 KUWAIT CITY, April 27: Ahmadi patrol officers have arrested a citizen wanted by law in three crimes, including two thefts and one molestation. In detail, a police source said a police patrol during a routine duty in Fintas seized the suspect who failed to show his identification documents. On checking records, police found that the suspect is wanted in three crimes and seized a green colored substance from his car believed to be drugs. Police operatives also launched an intensive campaign in carious areas and seized 20 individuals wanted by law.

Maid says tortured: An Asian housemaid recently lodged a complaint with officers at the Farwaniya police station against her Arab lady sponsor identified as Wazeera and accused her of torture, reports Al-Anba daily. In her complaint, the housemaid said she managed to escape from her employer to the embassy of her country because she could not tolerate the cruelty anymore. The housemaid said she was tortured by the sponsor for several months and medical reports confirmed bruises she had suffered in different parts of her body. The sponsor will be summoned for questioning.

Juvenile thieves held: The police apprehended two juveniles — a Kuwaiti and a Bedoun, for shoplifting in Nugra area, reports Al-Rai daily. Security guards spotted the two juvenile through CCTV while they were trying to hide some small electronic gadgets inside their clothes at a shop inside a commercial complex, and notified the Operations Room. Officers rushed to the scene and referred the two suspects to the concerned authorities.

Girl in custody: Patrol men on duty in Mahboula referred a girl to the area police station after they discovered she was not in normal condition, reports Al-Seyassah daily. Security sources said the girl was spotted early morning inside a sport car and the officers approached her for checking. As they drew near, the officers observed that the girl wasn’t in normal state. They asked for her civil ID and when she couldn’t provide one, she was requested to accompany them to the police station. In protest, she said “I am a girl and won’t go to the station by a patrol car”. Later, the officers managed to convince her to sit in the patrol car and they drove to the station. She was referred to the concerned authority for further action.

Thief ‘cleans’ flat: An unknown individual stole gold rings, a mobile phone, a laptop, 5,000 Egyptian pounds, KD 1,340, a passport and birth certificates from the flat of an Egyptian expatriate in Hawally area, reports Al-Seyassah daily. According to security sources, the Egyptian expatriate went to Hawally Police Station and informed securitymen that the suspect entered his flat through the window and committed the burglary. Securitymen rushed to the location and lifted fingerprints to identify the suspect.
