CSC identifies key elements of ‘strategic alternative’ project No salary changes before project completion

 KUWAIT CITY, April 23: Head of Civil Service Commission (CSC) Abdulaziz Al-Zabin has identified the key elements of the strategic alternative project regarding the salaries and positions of employees in the governmental sector, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

He affirmed that high salaries will not be reduced but low salaries will be increased to sort out the imbalance in the salaries of employees with same specifications, stressing that every employee will undergo the same recruitment process based on the allotted conditions. Al-Zabin declared that no salary changes will be approved before the completion of the project of strategic alternatives, which is expected to be implemented by the beginning of 2015.

He denied that pressures and influences were imposed for approval of salary increments, stressing that all salary changes in the past were approved based on studies while some of them were approved in line with certain laws such as the compensations given to teachers. Al-Zabin explained that the technical committee responsible for the project of strategic alternative has managed to assess 3,150 jobs of the employees in various ministries in the country. He revealed that CSC is now studying the public authorities and institutions that have a special list of salaries, adding that the strategic alternative will be referred to the CSC Board followed by the Cabinet
