Air-Arabia hosts Sharjah GCC Road Show Kuwait seen as most promising tourism market

KUWAIT CITY, April 22: In collaboration with Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA), Air-Arabia hosted the Sharjah GCC Road show which was held at Hotel Missoni yesterday (Monday). With the attendance of representatives from travel agencies in Kuwait, the media and other concerned officials, the event commenced with a presentations on Sharjah’s various tourist attractions, cultural offerings and leisure options. In his speech, Mohamed Dasouky, the Area Manager of Air-Arabia in Kuwait, extended his gratitude to all the travel and business partners of Air Arabia for their continues support.

 Dasouky highlighted that Air Arabia is the first and the largest low cost Air carrier in the Middle Eastern and North African region, travelling to more than 90 destinations around the Globe, and that despite the hardships throughout 2013, with the help of partners and agencies; they were able to move forward. In his turn, Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Director General of SCTDA, noted that Kuwait is now one of the most promising tourism markets for Sharjah in the Gulf region. He went on to say that there is a 21% year-on-year increase in the number of Kuwaiti tourists travelling to the Emirates, bringing the total of last year’s visitors to around 42 thousand.

“Sharjah, the Capital of Arab and Islamic Culture, a favourite tourism destination for both the Arab families and visitors from around the world,” Khalid Al-Midfa stated, adding that the reason behind the increase of Kuwaiti visitors to the Emirates, Sharjah in particular, is due to the historical ties between the two countries. The event was concluded with an awarding ceremony, where the top 17 Kuwait based travel agencies working with Air-Arabia were recognized and awarded for their performance and dedication in promoting Air-Arabia.  Air Arabia was extensively impressed by the performance of said agents and encouraged them to remain as dedicated and helpful as always.
