Clean fuel project to provide 500 job vacancies for Kuwaitis

KUWAIT CITY, April 19: Minister of Oil, the State Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Al-Omair has said the clean fuel project will provide about 500 job vacancies for Kuwaiti youths, reports Al-Jarida daily.

This was in reply to a question submitted by MP Khalil Abdullah relating to the number of vacancies the project would provide for the national personnel.

He added that studies are being conducted to identify the kind of jobs that will be available in the project, indicating the study is complicated because it relates to several issues-among them the suspension of Mina Al-Shuaiba refinery and transfer of some employees to the clean fuel project. It also involves the new refinery and Olefins projects, and the schedule for completing the clean fuel project. He added the clean fuel project is considered the biggest development project in the country, as it aims at developing Mina Al-Ahmadi and Mina Abdullah refinery.

As regards to the award of ‘sharing successes’ distributed to employees of the companies in oil sector for fiscal year 2012/2013, Al-Omair said it is worth KD 93.5 million, reports Al-Qabas daily. He explained that nearly 19,301 employees qualify for the award, noting the sum of money distributed annually since fiscal year 2004/2005 until 2012/2013 is estimated at KD 356 million.

He added the award is disbursed to all employees of the companies in oil sector, regardless of the level of profit each company makes because of the difference in the activities of each company.
