Kuwaiti trio, Canadian, Arab expat held in drug trafficking

KUWAIT, April 17: Three Kuwaiti citizens, a Canadian expatriate and an Arab national were arrested for their involvement in drug peddling. According to security sources, when the Directorate General for Drug Control received information about a gang involved in drug peddling, a team was formed for investigations. After confirming the information and obtaining a warrant from the Public Prosecution, the team arrested the first suspect.

During interrogations, he confessed that he obtained the drugs from another individual and he provided securitymen with details about the second suspect. Securitymen arrested the second suspect, who was accompanied with the third suspect. Checking them, securitymen found 2 kilograms of hashish, 20 pills of ‘Captagon’ drug and one gram of ‘Shabu’ drug.

During interrogations, the suspects revealed the identity of the fourth suspect who provided them with the drugs. Securitymen arrested him with the fifth suspect and checked their apartments to find a number of cigarettes rolled with hashish.

All suspects have been referred with the drugs to the concerned authorities for further investigations.

Meanwhile, two wanted youths were arrested by Jahra securitymen led by Jahra Security Director Major General Ibrahim Al-Tarrah in possession of eight narcotic pills, tools used for consuming drugs and three packs of bullets.

In addition, securitymen arrested two unidentified individuals for stealing two vehicles. Securitymen suspected them when they were standing next to the vehicles in a lot and approached them for checking. They discovered that the vehicles were reported as stolen. They referred the suspects and the vehicles to the concerned authorities for necessary procedures.
