Kenya deports 82 Somali nationals

NAIROBI, Kenya, April 9, (AP): Kenya’s security minister says 82 Somali nationals have been deported in an ongoing security crackdown following recent terror attacks in Kenya’s capital and the port city of Mombasa. Joseph Ole-Lenku said Wednesday that those who were deported had been in Kenya illegally or lacked documentation. Ole-Lenku says the deportations were done according to the law. Ole-Lenku spoke as he gave journalists and human rights groups access to a sports stadium in Nairobi that has been converted into a detention facility to hold those arrested in the crackdown.
