Kuwaiti girl found dead in bathroom Foul play suspected

KUWAIT CITY, April 3: A 17-year old Kuwaiti girl is said to have died inside the bathroom at their family house in Abdullah Al-Mubarak, but security operatives suspect foul play. Apparently, the father of the deceased girl notified the Operations Room of the Interior Ministry and acting on information, a team of rescue men rushed to the scene. She was declared dead before her admission to the Intensive Care Unit of the Farwaniya Hospital. Security sources said the girl may have been strangled with a rope due to a mark the police detected on the neck. During questioning, the father admitted that a family member had beaten the girl when management of the school she attended called and told him that his daughter was using a mobile phone. Investigation is in progress to determine the cause of death.

Asian held with liquor: An Asian expatriate was arrested in Abdullah Al-Salem area in possession of 14 bottles of locally brewed liquor. According to security sources, securitymen were patrolling the area at night when they noticed the suspect walking in the area and carrying a large bag. When he noticed the patrol vehicle approaching him, he tried to run away but securitymen managed to catch him. They checked the bag and found 14 bottles of locally brewed liquor. He was arrested and referred to the concerned authorities for further investigations. Meanwhile, Jahra securitymen arrested an Iranian national and an Asian expatriate after catching them red-handed trying to steal iron rods and electrical cables. During interrogations, they confessed that they were planning to sell the stolen items to Amghara Scrapyard. In addition, Jahra securitymen recovered from a parking lot in Sulaibiya area, a vehicle that was reported as stolen. Sources revealed that securitymen noticed the vehicle in the parking lot because it did not have a number plate. After checking its details, they discovered that it was earlier reported as stolen.
