KUWAIT CITY, March 24: The Executive Committee of the International Police Sports Union (USIP) held the First World Police Sports and Security Conference at Regency Hotel on March 23 under the auspices of USIP President Lt General Sheikh Ahmad Al-Nawaf. According to a press release, Lt General Al-Nawaf affirmed at the end of the conference that several recommendations were presented during the meeting, which will be approved at the general meeting.  He indicated that the recommendations will remain as draft version until they are approved by the general assembly, hinting that the recommendations include scrapping the need for categorizing vice presidents in the order of first, second and third.

Lt General Al-Nawaf explained that the second recommendation proposed the continuity of the executive committee for another four years while the third recommendation urged approving the nomination of four executive members from which two names would be picked, while six names will be nominated for the technical committee out of which five would be picked. He revealed that USIP will adopt a new method to nominate candidates for offices, adding that the international unions will be sending the names of their nominees one or two months before the meetings.  Meanwhile, leaders of the GCC Police Sports Union will attend a meeting at 9:00 am on Tuesday, while the delegations from other countries that participated in the conference will enjoy a day of leisure.
