Manhunt launched for ten Sulaibiya gunmen

KUWAIT CITY, March 20: Ten persons, including two Syrians and two Bedouns, allegedly fired their guns randomly in Sulaibiya, causing damage to police vehicles and chaos in the area. It has been reported a team of Jahra securitymen raided the houses of those suspected of involvement in the shooting spree but they were not at home.

The team also questioned 15 persons after the incident and initial investigations revealed about 10 people were actually involved in the shooting incident. One of the Bedoun suspects has been found to be involved in several other cases. He might be sentenced to life in prison for one of the cases and five years in jail for another case. Deputy Premier and Interior Minister Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled Al-Sabah and Interior Ministry Undersecretary Lieutenant General Sulaiman Al-Fahad are closely following up the case and a directive has been issued to refer the suspects to the court upon arrest. Sources added a number of security teams have been formed to search for the suspects and the ministry intends to confiscate weapons in the area to identify those involved in the shooting incident.
