Violating wedding halls to loose licences

KUWAIT CITY, March 19: The Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor will cancel licenses of wedding halls under its supervision in case proven they have violated the rules and regulations, reports Al-Jarida daily quoting Assistant Undersecretary for Social Development Affairs Munira Al-Fadhli.

The assistant undersecretary made the statement when she attended the forum organized recently by the Permanent National Committee to Prepare for Celebrations under the auspices of Minister Hind Al-Sabeeh at the Center for Community Development in Zahra. She explained the ministry will order suspension of activities for three months prior to the cancellation of the license.

According to Al-Fadhli, the ministry is closely monitoring the activities in wedding halls; which were established for social development purposes. She warned any violation will not be tolerated, indicating the ministry currently supervises 47 wedding halls. She said that initially, the activities in these halls are monitored by the owners; but in case of violations, they will be put under the direct supervision of the ministry. She clarified this regulation has been implemented since 2006.
