African expat caught with drug items admits peddling

KUWAIT CITY, March 17: An African expatriate was arrested in possession of different types of drugs. According to security sources, when the Directorate General for Drug Control received information about an African expatriate involved in drug peddling, a team was formed for investigations. After confirming the information and obtaining a warrant from the Public Prosecution, the officers arrested him in possession of 5 grams of heroin. When questioned, he informed securitymen about some drugs hidden in his vehicle. Securitymen checked the vehicle and found 500 grams marijuana, 100 grams of ‘Ice’ drug and 35 grams of heroin.

He confessed that the drugs belonged to him and he was planning to sell them. The suspect was referred with the drugs to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against him.

Meanwhile, two Syrians, a Palestinian and a Sudanese were arrested in possession of drugs, KD 725 cash and a knife. According to security sources, Hawally securitymen were patrolling the area at night when they noticed four individuals standing next to a Japanese-made vehicle near Sadiq Roundabout.

They approached them and checked their Civil IDs to discover two were Syrians, one was a Palestinian and one Sudanese. They checked one of the two bags that the men were holding and discovered that it was filled with drugs. They checked the other bag and found drugs, KD 725 and a knife. They arrested the four men and referred them with the items to the Directorate General for Drug Control for investigations.
