Securitymen nab 2 Syrians impersonating as police officers Asian woman attacked, KD 200 stolen

 KUWAIT CITY, March 15: An Asian woman sustained injuries on her hand after unknown individuals waylaid her on the road in Hassawi area, attacked her and robbed her of KD 200. According to security sources, the victim reported the incident at Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh Police Station and submitted a medical report to indicate the injuries she sustained.

She explained that the attackers, who wore dishdashas, had waylaid her on the road, attacked her, grabbed her money and fled from the location. A case was registered for finding and arresting the suspects.

Meanwhile, an unknown individual waylaid an Indian expatriate while he was walking in Farwaniya area and robbed him of his mobile phone, after which he fled from the location. Investigations are ongoing to find and arrest the unknown suspect. Meanwhile, two unemployed Syrian expatriates were arrested for impersonating as police officers of ranks ‘Major’ and ‘Captain’, possessing military ID cards, and disturbing motorists and pedestrians in Kuwait City, reports Al-Anba daily.

According to security sources, a traffic officer was patrolling on Salem Al-Mubarak Street in Kuwait City when two pedestrians stopped and informed him that two individuals, who claimed to be police officers with ranks of Major and Captain respectively, was disturbing motorists and pedestrians in the vicinity. The officer rushed to the location immediately and managed to arrest the impersonators with assistance of passersby, even though the suspects tried to flee after sighting the officer.

The officer was surprised to discover that the suspects are unemployed Syrian expatriates, and found military ID cards inside their car. The officer has arrested them and referred them for prosecution.
