Syrians Wife - Runaway or kidnap?

KUWAIT CITY, March 11: An unidentified Syrian has filed a complaint with the Naeem Police Station in Jahra accusing an unidentified person of kidnapping his wife who works at the Al-Jahra hospital, reports Al-Anba daily. The complainant told police the kidnapper in a telephone call had threatened to kill his wife if he complained to police. According to security sources, it looks like the man’s wife was booked to go Tehran the next day at 9:00 am. The case has been referred to the concerned authorities. Police are looking to find out if it is a case of ‘runaway’ or ‘kidnap’.

Smuggling antiques: Customs officers at the Abdali border post recently foiled an attempt by unidentified persons to smuggle stolen antiques into the country, reports Alam Alyawm daily. The suspect is an Iraqi and he came from Arbil. The daily added, he was referred for a thorough check because he looked confused when he entered the customs area. During inspection the officials found the contraband hidden in his baggage. During interrogation he said he bought the antiques from a trader in his country. A case of smuggling antiques into the country has been filed against him.
