‘No gun shots fired at KAC flight’

KUWAIT CITY, March 8: Kuwait Airways Corporation (KAC) has refuted reports that someone fired gun shots at KAC flight number 618 (Airbus 320) coming from Doha. In a press statement, the corporation stressed there is no truth in the allegation that the aircraft was shot as it landed safely at Kuwait International Airport at 6:48 pm Friday with 81 passengers on board.

The corporation revealed the pilot informed the surveillance tower at the airport that he noticed what appeared to be a gun shot in the sky but it was not directed towards the aircraft. He still followed the standard procedures under such circumstances by informing the concerned air authorities to take the necessary action in order to guarantee the safety of the crew and passengers. The surveillance tower, in turn, informed the Ministry of Interior which took the precautionary measures. Meanwhile, the daily obtained pictures of some men firing guns during a wedding party in Ahmadi.
