Inventions of talented Kuwaitis ‘celebrated’ 80 patents’ holders honored

KUWAIT CITY, March 5, (KUNA): The Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Giftedness and Creativity celebrated here on Wednesday the displaying of invention of one of the Kuwaiti talented inventors, Faisal Al-Asfour for his invention (Protection of rain water sewage). This invention is the first of its kind of Kuwaiti innovation that is applied in America. Fourty other inventors and 80 patents’ holders have also been honored. Director of the center, Dr Omar Al-Bannai, said in a speech during the opening, held late on Tuesday, that the center is proud of this constellation of talented inventors and their great innovations, noting that the center supports talented and creative persons to enable them develop their skills in order to raise high the name of Kuwait in international forums. He said one of the Kuwaiti oil companies has embraced an invention of a Kuwaiti inventor who has obtained 10 patents, stressing that during this year, 10 achievements and inventions will see the light soon.

He expressed thanks to the Ministry of Education, oil companies, Ministry of Youth and Sport, Public Authority for Agriculture, Fish Resources Affairs and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry for their cooperation and for their allocation of industrial and agricultural lands for the center in wafra for conducting the needed experiments and researches related to agriculture and livestock. In turn, Undersecretary of State Ministry for Youth Affairs Sheikha Al-Zain Al-Sabah reiterated the need for supporting this group of young people, “makers of the future” and for every initiative of this kind, thanking at the same time the talented and creative people for their efforts and sacrifices dedicated for their country. For his part, Abdul Aziz Al-Mutawa, a Kuwaiti inventor, said these inventions have been the result of tremendous efforts and initiatives that should be encouraged, particularly as they reached a global level, indicating that the civilization of nations were now measured by these inventions and achievements.
