Driving license - Profession changed

I am aged 54 (male) and holding a driving license issued in 1999 and linked to my profession of “Audit Supervisor”. Now I have resigned from the job and am holding an Article 22 (transferred from Article 18) residence as a dependent under the sponsorship of my wife who is a teacher.

Is it legal to drive on the above license?

Name withheld
Answer: Until now the General Traffic Department has made no mention of withdrawing driving licenses of those who were “Audit Supervisors” and have now changed their profession. So, it is safe to assume — for the time being — that you won’t have any problems on the continued use of your current driving license.

But you should remain aware that the General Traffic Department is continuously looking cases in which the licenses were issued on the basis of professions.

In case, the General Traffic Department feels your license should be revoked it will most likely notify you, refuse to extend the validity of your license when it comes up for renewal or confiscate it at some check point.
