Officers’ graduation ceremony held under Amir’s patronage Crown Prince attends event

KUWAIT CITY, March 3, (KUNA): Under the patronage of His Highness the Amir and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah the graduation ceremony of the 18th batch of university-level officers and the 41st group of commissioned officers was held Monday at Ali Al-Sabah Military Academy. His Highness the Amir deputized His Highness the Deputy Amir and Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to attend the graduation ceremony. His Highness the Deputy Amir and Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf was received at the Academy by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Khaled Jarrah Al-Sabah, the Army’s Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Abdulrahman Mohammad Othman, Undersecretary of the Defense Minister Jasser Abdulrazaq Al-Jasser, Dean of the Ali Al-Sabah Military Academy and other members of the Defense Council.

The graduation ceremony was also attended by National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim, former National Assembly speaker Jassem Al-Kharafi, senior sheikhs, His Highness Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Deputy Minister of the Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Ali Jarrah Al-Sabah, senior officials of the state, and relatives of the graduates.

The ceremony began with playing the national anthem and recitation of the Holy Quran verses.
Then, Dean of the Academy Major General Ahmad Abdulwahab Al-Omair welcomed the prestigious guests and thanked His Highness the Crown Prince for his attendance and support to the Kuwaiti military. Al-Omair highlighted the professional and up-to-date training and high skills which the graduated officers had gained during their study in the Academy. He also thanked the officers for their excellent performance and high-level discipline and congratulated them on their graduation. He reiterated army officers’ full allegiance and loyalty to Kuwait and His Highness the Amir.
 
A military parade was held for both classes which was followed by His Highness the Crown Prince awarding the graduates with their certificates. His Highness Sheikh Nawaf also decorated excelling officers with awards. The graduates also put on a show that showcased their recently acquired military skills. Before he left the ceremony, the Academy’s officers presented to His Highness the Crown Prince a memorial gift on the occasion.

KUWAIT CITY: His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received a telephone call from Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki on Sunday. During the call, Al-Maliki inquired about His Highness the Amir’s health, wishing him the best health and wellbeing. In return, His Highness the Amir expressed gratitude and appreciation of the gesture, wishing the Iraqi Prime Minister the best of health and his brotherly nation, prosperity. Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah also received a telephone call from Kuwait’s National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim on Sunday. During the call, Al-Ghanim, on behalf of himself and Parliament members, inquired about His Highness the Amir’s health, wishing him the best health and wellbeing. In return, His Highness the Amir expressed gratitude and appreciation of the warm gesture, wishing the Parliament the same sentiments.
