2 children die; woman, her son, maid injured in road accident Coal smoke kills man

KUWAIT CITY, March 1: A 38-year-old Kuwaiti man died in his house in Saad Al-Abdullah after inhaling carbon monoxide coming from the coal stove. Paramedics and securitymen rushed to the location after the Operations Room at the Interior Ministry received a call about the incident. They found the Kuwaiti’s body and it appeared that he tried crawling towards the door of his diwaniya. His remains were referred to Forensics. Acase was registered and investigations are ongoing to determine the actual circumstances leading to the Kuwaiti’s death.

Maid commits suicide: A 38-year old Nepalese housemaid committed suicide inside her sponsor’s residence in Sulaibiya. According to security sources, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received a distress call about the incident, securitymen and paramedics rushed to the location to save her life. Upon arrival at the scene, rescue officers discovered that the woman was already dead, as she had hung her neck to ceiling of a prefabricated room. Paramedics referred her remains to Forensics Department for autopsy while securitymen registered a case for investigations.

Estranged wife ‘assaulted’: A Kuwaiti woman and her brother lodged a complaint against her estranged husband at Jahra Police Station, accusing him of physically abusing her, restricting her movement for two days and threatening her brother and her with a gun. The woman supported her claim with a medical report. Securitymen have registered a case for investigations. Two children die in accident:Two children died while a Kuwaiti woman, her son and her housemaid sustained injuries in a road accident in Kabad area, reports Al-Rai daily. A motorist hit the rear of the woman’s car, causing her to lose control and turn the vehicle to the opposite direction of the road where it crashed into another vehicle.

Youth dies, cousin injured: A 20-year old Bedoun youth died while his 24-year old cousin sustained injuries when their ATV toppled on Kabad Road, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. The corpse of the youth was referred to the Forensics Department while his injured cousin was referred to Farwaniya Hospital for treatment.

Drunk prevented from traveling: The Egyptian security authorities at Cairo Airport prevented a drunken Kuwaiti passenger from traveling to Kuwait, reports Al-Rai daily. An immigration officer called the police officers after detecting the smell of alcohol from the suspect. He prevented the suspect from traveling for fear of being a threat to the lives of other passengers onboard the plane.
