Municipality collects 24 trucks of ‘garbage’ from public places Move to maintain cleanliness in all areas

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 28: The Kuwait Municipality has intensified its efforts to maintain cleanliness all over the country by increasing the number of teams equipped with the necessary cleaning machines and materials to make the areas more beautiful and cleaner. Director General of the Municipality Ahmad Al-Subeih disclosed the supervisory body has been instructed to work 24 hours during the national holidays to maintain cleanliness after the celebrations; especially in places that witnessed big crowds like the Gulf Road.  He said a directive was issued to all officials of Municipality branches to strictly deal with any violation through the proper implementation of the law.

Meanwhile, Director of the Hygiene and Roads Occupancy Administration at the Municipality branch in Hawally Abdul Aziz Al-Yahya revealed the Municipality collected 24 trucks of garbage from public places all over the governorate on Feb 25 and 26.  He said this is in addition to the confiscation of a lorry full of toys and foodstuff from peddlers, indicating that trucks and cleaners were provided to 11 temporary locations of security bodies in the governorate to keep the areas clean. Moreover, the Emergency Team at the Municipality branch in Jahra  removed tyres and poles installed by some people to cordon-off certain places behind the Jahra Cemetery which they used as venues for selling camels.
