‘Interior minister has no Twitter account; steps taken to ID fake person’ MoI will not allow Saudi cleric Al-Maliki to enter Kuwait: MP

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 26: The Security Media Department at the Ministry of Interior has clarified that Deputy Premier and Interior Minister Sheikh Mohammed Al- Khalid has no account on Twitter or any other social networking site. In a press statement Wednesday, the department confirmed the ministry has started taking steps to identify the person behind the fake Twitter account to refer him to the judiciary and be punished according to the law.

The department also refuted rumors spread through various social networking sites that some people set fire to tyres along the Fifth and Sixth Ring Roads Tuesday evening. It then appealed to the local media and users of the sites to verify information prior to publication in order to guarantee the safety and security of the society. Meanwhile, MP Ahmed Al-Azmi was quoted as saying Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khalid will not allow Saudi cleric Hassan Farhan Al-Maliki to enter Kuwait, reports al-Seyassah daily.

Sources say this is a punishment for those who dare insult the Companions of the Prophet (PBUH). Al-Azmi in a statement yesterday said when he contacted the Interior Minister he was told Al-Maliki was banned from entering Kuwait about a year-and-a-half ago. A number of former MPs have promoted false rumors about the ban saying Al-Maliki wanted to visit Kuwait to give a lecture on ‘Atonement’.
