Syrian acquitted of robbing commercial company

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 22: The Court of Appeals presided over by Judge Salah Younis upheld the verdict issued by the Court of First Instance, which acquitted a Syrian expatriate of burgling a commercial company. According to the case files, the owner of the company filed a case, alleging that the company’s shop in Nugra area was burgled at night and the unknown thief stole all the money from the company; however, no one saw the burglar.

The case officer said he had conducted secret investigations to discover that the suspect committed the crime, explaining that the suspect broke the door of the shop with the help of another individual with whom the stolen money was shared. He revealed that the plaintiff had also provided him with records of the CCTV camera that was installed in the shop.

Attorney Mohammad Al-Ajmi insisted that there are no evidences proving the truth behind the testimony of the plaintiff, as the suspect was not caught red-handed. He stressed that there are no eyewitnesses to claim that the money stolen from the shop as alleged by the plaintiff was confiscated from the defendant.
