Cyber Crimes Dept tracking ‘indecent’ sites Teams to maintain security during national days celebrations

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 22: The Director General of the General Administration for Criminal Investigations Brigadier Mahmoud Al-Tabbakh says the Cyber Crimes Department is continuously tracking websites that are being used by some suspicious companies for publishing indecent pictures and promoting vice, reports Al-Rai daily.

He said the department is exerting all efforts to close down these websites and arrest those who attempt to tamper with the security of the country. Brigadier Al-Tabbakh appreciated the management of the Cyber Crimes Department, indicating that they are working effectively in dealing with a number of issues and referring them to the Public Prosecution. He urged people to use websites in a proper manner and avoid sending personal data and images to unknown people.

Meanwhile, Brigadier Al-Tabbakh said the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khalid, Undersecretary of Ministry of Interior Lt General Sulaiman Al-Fahad and Assistant Undersecretary for Criminal Security Affairs Major General Abdulhameed Al-Awadhi are keenly following up on the security plans.

In addition, he said all departments of the General Administration for Criminal Investigations are working hard to combat crimes, indicating that a number of teams have been distributed to different sectors to maintain security during the celebrations of the national holidays.

He stressed that detectives work round the clock to maintain security and preserve the properties of others, praising the efforts exerted by all managers and their cooperation with other sectors. In other words, deputy Director General of Kuwait Municipality for Development and Training Sector Eng Ahmad Al-Manfoohi revealed that Minister of Communications and State Minister for Municipality Affairs Essa Al-Kandari has instructed Director General of the Municipality Ahmad Al-Sabeeh to coordinate with the Ministry of Health undersecretary to finalize the proposed establishment of the Public Authority for Nutrition and remove all obstacles to its implementation, reports Al-Rai daily.

Al-Manfoohi admitted the problem lies in the process of laying down regulations of the body, particularly since the law stipulates the process should not take more than a year.
