A policeman injured in the protest is looked after in hospital
Bedoun protest turns violent

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 20: Some Bedouns organized demonstrations in Taima and Sulaibiya recently. The demonstrations turned into violence as the protesters clashed with the securitymen tasked to disperse the crowd. Some of them hurled stones at the officers, causing injuries to the latter and damage to the police vehicles. Others set fire to dust bins and tyres, resulting in traffic jams and closure of some roads. Back-up forces were then dispatched to the location and they asked the demonstrators to vacate the areas. Meanwhile, the Security Media Department released a statement appealing to the demonstrators to strictly comply with the law; otherwise, they will be punished.

Fugitive bedoun held: The State Security police have arrested an unidentified fugitive bedoun who was wanted by the law for inciting riots and insulting the Minister of Interior during a demonstration which was organized by bedoun last Tuesday in Jahra, reports Al-Shahed daily. According to security sources after the suspect escaped from police, the State Security pursued him, arrested him and referred him for interrogation. The daily did not give details of the arrest.
