TACK, MGCC announce union at KOC cricket ground Bid to bring 8 grounds together under ‘one umbrella’

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 19: Teams Association for Cricket in Kuwait (TACK) and MG Cricket Club (MGCC) announced their merger on Friday, at the KOC cricket ground in Ahmadi under the auspicious patronage of Mahmoud Abdulla, Chairman & founder MGCC and Mohammad Ashraf, President of TACK. Valentine Day 2014 was a momentous day for the game of cricket in Kuwait. February 14th is synonymous with people expressing their adoration and reverence for one another and hence it was the ideal time for two bodies, which have been gallantly serving cricket in Kuwait, to announce their grand union. During the presentation ceremony after the finals between Aroma CC & Petrofac, which was won by the latter in a nail biting last over finish at KOC cricket ground in Ahmadi, the patron in chief of TACK, Mahmoud Abdullah was quoted as saying “the formidable combination of TACK and MGCC aims to continue improving standards in all areas of the game in Kuwait by bringing together their eight grounds, spread across Doha, Sulaibikhat, Kabd and Hateen, under one umbrella”.

He continued by saying that “with more than 80 teams coming together as a result of this grand unification, both the game and players will benefit like never before and the TACK-MG7 combination will become a force to be reckoned with in coming times”.  TACK’s President and CEO of Aroma & Safari General Trading Company Mohammad Ashraf explained the goal behind this merger saying “TACK-MG7 will put in utmost hard work and no efforts will be spared to further improve the standard of cricket in Kuwait and make it the number one expatriate sport in terms of fan-base, viewership and investment”.
The immense confidence displayed by both leaders is not without reason as both organizations have been involved serving the game in Kuwait in various forms for a number of years and bringing a varied set of expertise to the table.

MG Cricket Club has, over the years, provided the ideal platform to local players to display their cricketing skills in various local and overseas competitions including tournaments in Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore, United Arab Emirates (Dubai) and Bahrain.  TACK, since its inception has always strived to provide state-of-the-art facilities to people from all backgrounds to play cricket and proved its mettle last year, by successfully conceptualizing and executing the best cricket facility that Kuwait has to offer in the shape of TACK Entertainment City Cricket Ground in Doha.

International standard floodlights, lush green outfield, professionally maintained turf wickets, various tournaments and on-going leagues with the biggest cricket event in Kuwait’s history up their sleeve in the name of 4 Nations Tournament conducted last year in November, the coming together of TACK and MGCC is a propitious omen for players and cricket lovers in Kuwait, and this combination is bound to scale new heights and take the game of cricket in Kuwait to its absolute pinnacle, as every final of all the tournaments played on TACK-MG7 desert grounds will be held at the TACK Entertainment City Cricket ground in Doha.  Backed by the corporate muscle of its leaders, TACK-MGCC looks forward to generously reward the players and officials like never before and continue to live up to its reputation of being the premium body to run the game of cricket in Kuwait.
