Labor minister vows to open residencies file to control violations Ministry refers about 50 private firms to prosecution

 KUWAIT CITY, Feb 19: Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, the State Minister for Planning and Development Affairs Hind Al- Subaih has vowed to open the files of residencies to control violations while reviewing errors committed in that regard, reports Al-Rai daily.

Sources confirmed the minister will closely follow up the issue after the completion of its automation system update to avoid repeating mistakes of the past. They noted Al-Subaih will spare no effort in coordinating with the ministry officials to provide the best of services to citizens and expatriates. In a related development, the ministry has since referred about 50 private companies to Public Prosecution for manipulating and forging their need for employees and other documents.

Sources explained that the ministry has taken the step upon conclusion of auditing of the companies’ files by the Legal Affairs Department, adding that legal action against the companies will help control the phenomenon of marginal personnel and visa traders
