The Bedoun accused of stealing mobile phones
Citizen wanted in crimes held

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 14:Security operatives from Hawalli arrested a citizen wanted for criminal offenses. The man was apprehended while driving a stolen vehicle and officers discovered he was dodging five years imprisonment term. He is reported to have perpetrated several thefts and traded in narcotics. He admitted the crimes during questioning and was referred to the concerned authority. Meanwhile, a Bedoun was arrested in Jabriya area for his involvement in theft cases. He was wanted for stealing mobile phones from hospitals and selling them to shops. He was found in possession of a number of civil ID cards and mobile phones. He has since been referred to the relevant authority.

Fake lenses seized: Inspectors from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry during a surprise inspection campaign are said to have seized more than 1,000 pairs of imitation contact lenses carrying world renowned brand names, reports Al-Rai daily. The sources said some of these false contact lenses have crossed their expiry date and some have the validity until 2015. Sources pointed out the fraud was discovered when the inspectors sent the samples of these lenses to the Ministry of Health labs. The ministry discovered although some these lenses were registered with the ministry, they were invalid for use. The investigation is underway and the impoundments will be referred to the concerned authorities
