Oil pipes worth thousands stolen from store Expat borrows huge cash, flees

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 12: The Farwaniya police are looking for unidentified persons for stealing 2:3 kms long oil pipes worth tens of thousands of dinars from a store belonging to a company in the area, reports Al- Anba daily. Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints to identify the culprits.

Meanwhile, A case of fraud has been registered at the Jleeb Al-Shuuoukh Police Station against an Egyptian man for swindling 25 expatriates, including compatriots, reports Al-Rai daily. According to a complaint filed by a compatriot the suspect borrowed from him KD 3,900 and left for Cairo. Later it turned out the man had borrowed money from various other people under false pretexts before leaving the country for good.

In another development, Police have arrested an unidentified youth for harassing young women inside the Mubarakiya Market, reports Al-Rai daily. Police records show the suspect is an ex-criminal and had been recently released from jail. The arrest came after one of the women complained to police that the youth was following her wherever she went and attempted to forcibly give her his phone number.

The youth has been referred to the competent authority. And, a Kuwaiti man recently handed over to the police a box containing ammunition, which he allegedly found while he and some workers were cleaning the garden of his home in Sabah Al- Salem, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. The box contained 500 rounds of ammunition - the type used in Kalashnikov rifle. Police are investigating to find out who could have dumped the ammunition in his garden.
