Events ‘lined’ up for national days

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 8, (KUNA): The National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL) is holding various cultural and heritage-related events during February, in time with the country’s national celebrations. The council’s General Secretariat said in a statement on Saturday that the events will start tomorrow, and are scheduled to conclude on Feb 26, adding that the council aims to spread international cultures and develop the cultural and artistic movements in Kuwait.

The events will include “the liberation exhibition” which will kick off on Sunday in Mishref, and a French music ceremony on Feb 14 on Kuwait National Museum’s stage, noted the statement.

Moreover, Kuwait’s National Library will hold a classical Arabic poetry event on the 16th, while a Chinese music band will perform on Abdulaziz Hussein stage in Mishref on Feb 17 and 18, the statement also added.

The National Library will also host an exhibition for stamps and rare books on the 17th, while the National Museum will be holding a formative arts exhibition, said the statement. The statement also noted that a Korean children’s orchestra band will be performing on 21 and 22 in Abdulaziz Hussein and Al-Dasma stages.

The councils events will include a Kuwaiti dialect poetry session, and a workshop entitled “Kuwait in the eyes of formative artists”, along with folklore and heritage-related ceremonies by local bands, and events held in Al-Qurain Martyrs House.
