Kuwait beats Oman in men handball tourney

The Kuwaiti national handball team on Wednesday night defeated their Omani peers 35-26 and ranked seventh in the 16th Asian Men’s Championship followed by Oman in the eighth place. Earlier today in other games of the championship, being organized by the Asian Handball Federation (AHF) here between January 25 and February 6, the South Korean team defeated Saudi Arabia’s 30-25 and won the fifth place followed by the Saudis. Also today Japan defeated Iraq 28-20 and ranked ninth followed by Iraq. The final game will put the host Bahrain vs Qatar tomorrow. The championship qualifies for the World Men’s Championship, to be held in Qatar next year. (KUNA)
