‘Saudi king eyes Muslim unity’ Support order: Shiite cleric

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 6: The most revered Shiite cleric in Kuwait Mohammad Al-Mahri has said the royal order issued by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King of Saudi Arabia, HH Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud aims to preserve unity and harmony among the Muslim nations away from conflict and divergence, and he requires all scholars and muftis to support it, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.

Al-Mahri called for the nations to stand by the order to be able to eliminate terrorism from the entire world and Muslim nations to live in peace — devoid of destruction or taking innocent lives. He hopes the rulers of the GCC countries would take a cue from the initiative to show the Western countries that Islam does not support terrorism like they interpret.
