Nod to better designation, bonus for MoH Kuwaitis Tweet to minister for better services

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 5: The Undersecretary of Health Dr Khalid Al-Sahlawi approved a decision to raise the occupational status of Kuwaitis working in health sector. The decision also specifies bonuses and allowances for beneficiaries and payment will be made retroactively from December 2013, reports Al- Seyassah daily.

Marzouq Al-Rashidi who’s the Assistant Undersecretary for Administrative Affairs and heads the committee formed to lift the occupational status of citizens in health sector said the step will help develop administrative procedures and motivate personnel. Employees benefitting from the decision include those in legal affairs, accountants with Bachelor’s degree and accountants holding diploma in banking and insurance.

The decision covers personnel in social service, statistics, information systems, administrative development, translation, administrative inspection and economics. Health Minister Dr Ali Al-Obeidi recently opened a new Twitter account to receive complaints regarding medical services and other related issues directly from the people in a bid to improve the health sector, says Dr Khalid Al-Sahlawi. Al-Sahlawi made the announcement on the sidelines of the Board of Trustees meeting held recently in the presence of the minister.

He revealed the meeting also tackled the work program of the ministry as part of the development plan of the State due for implementation in the last three months of fiscal 2013/2014. He said the minister emphasized the need to take serious and firm steps to support the health sector staff; including doctors, nurses and technicians. He explained these steps include the annual celebration in honor of those who performed well in their respective jobs as a way to encourage them to keep up the good work. He added the assistant undersecretary for administrative affairs has been tasked to study this procedure and lay down an effective mechanism, in coordination with other departments in the ministry.
