Filipino woman loses life in ‘film-style’ chase on roads Fake police rob expats

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 3: Police are looking for an unidentified Kuwaiti for escaping with a police vehicle, crashing into police patrol and causing the death of a Filipino woman, who was in a roaming taxi, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. According to a security source, a police officer on routine duty stopped two people driving on the Second Ring Road past midnight. As the officer was talking to the man behind the wheel, the man who was in the passenger seat climbed out of the vehicle got into the police vehicle and drove off. The suspect was chased by the police patrols, who in an attempt to escape drove against the flow of traffic, jumped the red traffic light, drove on the pavements and hit a roaming taxi causing the death of the Filipina on the spot. The suspect then climbed out of the vehicle and escaped on foot

Fake police rob expats: The Hawalli police have arrested two unemployed persons (a Syrian and an Egyptian) for impersonating police and threatening and robbing expatriates, reports Al-Anba daily. The arrest came after police received several complaints from Asians and Arabs and intensive investigations led to the arrest of one of the suspects. The suspect was picked by the victims from a legal lineup. The suspect then guided police to his partner. Both men have been referred to the concerned authorities.
