MoH & WHO to hold survey on smoking, obese Kuwaitis

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 1: Ministry of Health in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) will soon launch a survey in which 4,340 Kuwaiti citizens between the ages 18-69 years will serve as respondents to specify the rate of smoking, obesity, weight gain and laziness among them, reports Al-Jaridah daily quoting an informed source.

He revealed that the ministry will host an expert from WHO to deliver a lecture during a training course on Monday, explaining that the expert will also deliver some health-related lectures on non-infectious chronic diseases at the Anti-Infection Department of Al-Sabah Health Zone. Meanwhile, the ministry will host the GCC Committee for Updating Guidebook and Preparing Tenders on Optical Materials of 2014 for five days. Purchase representatives from various GCC countries will attend the committee meeting.
