Al-Fatat Sports Club headed to the United Arab Emirates

Kuwait’s Al-Fatat Sports Club headed to the United Arab Emirates on Friday to take part in both the Arab Women’s Club Championships in Sharjah and the Third Women’s International Dubai Karate Open. The first of the two events slated for February 2 to 12 will witness 900 sportswomen from 14 nations competing across seven disciplines — basketball, volleyball, table tennis, fencing, shooting, athletics and archery, team director and Al-Fatat club president Sheikha Fareeha Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah told KUNA.

Kuwait will be taking part in all sports but one — archery, she added, on the event which is being held only for the second time in the region. Meanwhile, some 125 gyms from 56 nations have pledged 1,100 karatekas to the International Dubai Karate Open, scheduled for February 2.
