MoI may amend ‘visa-on-arrival’

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 31: Ministry of Interior is working on amending a decision related to providing visa onarrival to some expatriates visiting Kuwait such that they will be required to obtain the visa from their respective countries before traveling to Kuwait, reports Al-Rai daily quoting informed sources.

They revealed that the ministry considered such an amendment after some problems were encountered with providing visa on-arrival to expatriates from 50 countries especially when it was discovered that some among them had criminal records or were wanted by law in their countries.

They stressed that the ministry is working on solving this issue by arranging for the travelers to obtain their visas from the Kuwaiti consulates and embassies of the respective countries, which will link electronically with the security agencies in Kuwait. The sources revealed that the new process is expected to start from next June.
