Public urged not to waste water, electricity Power minister denies rumors over increase in fees

Public Works, Electricity and Water Abdulaziz Al-Ibrahim has denied rumors spread through a social networking site that a recommendation is now in the hands of the Ministers Council to increase fees for services provided by the Ministry of Electricity. Al-Ibrahim asserted there is no plan to increase fees, affirming the ministry is keen on taking the necessary steps to improve its facilities and work procedures in a bid to better serve the public.

Corroborating the minister’s statement, Ministry of Electricity Undersecretary Ahmad Al-Jassar stressed the ministry has no intention to increase the fees. He asserted the ministry has never entertained the idea even if it shoulders the huge expenses for electricity and water services. He also appealed to the public to use water and electricity judiciously, indicating the ministry has been incurring enormous losses due to the wastage of such vital resources
