‘Track down public funds thieves, money hoarders’ ‘Govt bent on fighting corruption’

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 21: MP Abdullah Al- Tamimi is calling for the National Assembly to pursue those stealing public funds and hoarding Kuwait’s money inside private safes, reports Al- Seyassah daily. He said the incumbent parliament is destined to root out corruption that has been established by some political blocs throughout the last two decades despite these blocs claim to be fighting corruption.

He indicated that most prominent thefts the country experienced were committed by some lawmakers who sounded the slogan of anticorruption as means of clearing their names of the crime, and cited thefts perpetrated through Dow Chemical deal, calcified coke, social security, media city, loans interests, and other cases witnessed in the era of political groups such as Popular Bloc and the Islamic Constitutional Movement.

He stressed these political blocs accuse members of the current parliament and the second nullified parliament of being pro-government but they are the ones causing Kuwait to sink in corruption. “Even so, the current parliament will repair what they have destroyed by revisiting suspicious files to expose all those involved in depleting public funds and spreading corruption in the country’s institutions.
