Woman kills newborn baby 45 cars broken into

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 20: The Public Prosecution has charged an Asian woman of killing her newborn baby minutes after birth, reports Al-Seyassah daily. A security source said police rushed to the house of a Kuwaiti woman when she informed the Operations Department of the Interior Ministry that her housemaid had given birth to a baby. To their surprise when the police reached the apartment they found the baby in a water tub — dead.

45 cars broken into: The Salwa police have arrested a four-man gang — three Kuwaitis and an Iranian — for breaking into 45 vehicles in the Capital Governorate and Ahmadi, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. The thieves allegedly stole the contents from 10 cars, including money, expensive handbags, watches, cell phones and Civil IDs and later used these civil IDs to rent cars and committed crimes using these cars. Intensive investigations conducted by securitymen led to the arrest of one of the gang members and he then guided police to the ‘hideout’ of the three others. They have been referred to the authorities.

Wanted men held: Personnel from Sentences Enforcement Department have arrested five men who were wanted by law in financial cases worth KD 73,250, reports Al-Anba daily. The daily added two Kuwaitis were arrested for failing to pay KD 60,000 and KD 8,000 respectively, an Indian for failing to pay KD 1,000 and another compatriot for failing to pay paying KD 250 to a telecommunications company. The fifth was a Pakistani man. He was arrested for failing to pay KD 4,000.

Violating security: The Coast Guard Department has referred 14 people - 12 Kuwaitis, one Indian and one Pakistani — for entering restricted areas and taking pictures, reports, reports Al-Anba daily. The daily added, the authorities have also seized boats from the suspects. According to a security source, the Coast Guard spotted six boats in the oil installations area about a mile away from the North Pier, the area which is restricted due to its sensitivity. The cameras confiscated from the suspects contained pictures of oil installations and the pictures of oil being pumped into vessels at sea.

He has been handed over to the Criminal Investigation Department.

Laptop, cell stolen: Police are looking for an unidentified person for breaking into the vehicle of a Kuwaiti woman which was parked in front of her home in Salmiya and stealing her laptop computer, smart phone and personal items, reports Al-Rai daily. Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints to identify the culprit.
