TACK-IIK Children’s Cricket Academy is in a ‘full swing’ Practice makes perfect

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 19: Teams Association for Cricket in Kuwait (TACK) was envisaged to be a non-profit organization that would advance the game of cricket in Kuwait through leadership and discipline by providing opportunities and international standard facilities to people from all backgrounds to play competitive cricket. Since its inception in 2009, TACK has come a long way from the desert grounds in Sulaibiakhat to its crowning glory; TACK Entertainment City Cricket Ground in Doha with lush green outfields and international standard floodlights. With 92 teams, more than 2000 registered players and more than 15 tournaments under its belt; TACK is undoubtedly the premier cricket body in Kuwait.

TACK in collaboration with indiansinkuwait.com firmly established its reputation by conceptualizing and executing the biggest cricket event in Kuwait’s history in the form of 4 Nations Tournament on the 15th of November 2013. The tournament was played between Kuwait XI, Sri Lanka Xi, India XI and Pakistan XI; featuring the best local players from expatriate and Kuwaiti community. The tournament also served as the official launch of TACK Entertainment City Cricket Ground — Doha. It was a one day event packed with entertainment featuring thrilling T-20 matches between the four teams, magic shows for children, patriotic face painting, quizzes, food stalls, live DJ, including various bumper prizes sponsored by Ehsan Dana Co & Samsung.

The adrenaline-filled atmosphere was enhanced by Camco Global Events’ breathtaking show of lights using sky trackers, moving heads and beams, welcoming the packed crowd and the finalists, Pakistan & India, out to the ground before the finals commenced. Camco Global Events is one of the top events management companies in Kuwait renowned for producing some of the biggest shows both in Kuwait and overseas. This blend of TACK & Camco Global Events astounded the capacity crowd of over 3000 people with the perfect amalgamation of lights and sound. Among the attendees were such esteemed personalities as the Ambassadors of Pakistan and India along with the crème de la crème of Kuwait’s business community; representing all the event sponsors including Aroma & Safari General Trading Co, Gulf Bank, McDonald’s, Enaya Insurance, Mada, Western Union, Kuwait Bahrain Exchange, Huawei, Al Hafiz, Abdul-Rahman Al Bahar (Caterpillar), Napesco, Schneider, Esselte, Mais Al-Ghanim, Ehsan Dana and MG7.

It was due to this generous support of TACK’s sponsors that for the first time in Kuwait’s cricket history, all the winners, participating players and match officials were generously rewarded with man of the tournament walking away with a Samsung 40” LED TV and a Huawei P6; world’s slimmest phone. TACK achieved another first in Kuwait’s cricket history by erecting two massive LED screens showing the match live along with instant replays. Runners up India received a cheque of $3000 while the winners walked away with $4000. Cash prizes of $2500 and $2000 were also given away to third and fourth place teams respectively.

Since its official launch, TACK Entertainment City Cricket Ground — Doha has been hosting various leagues as part of its corporate social responsibility, catering to all segments of the national and expatriate population living in Kuwait. From organizing the recently concluded KBC (Kuwait Banks Club) Bank League to a one of its Kind “Kerala Premier League “along with the ongoing regular tournaments that accommodates more than 35 corporate giants and self sponsored power houses at any given time, TACK has achieved a remarkable feat of engaging both the local community and corporate houses in playing and developing cricket in Kuwait.

More importantly, at inception in 2009, one of TACK’s key objectives was to develop the game of cricket at grass root levels by promoting it amongst youth and encouraging kids to take up the sport at an early age. In order to deliver on that promise, TACK has once again collaborated with indiansinkuwait.com, an ideal platform to reach out to the masses as it has been serving the Indian community along with other South Asian nations with exceptional services for many years. With international standard flood lights, quality turf wickets, grassy outfield, professional training by ACC qualified coaches and the availability of rest rooms and changing rooms, TACK-IIK invites parents & children from all different backgrounds to join Kuwait’s one of a kind professional children’s cricket academy. TACK-IIK children’s cricket academy is providing parents with an ideal opportunity to fulfill their child’s dreams in Kuwait by giving them a prospect to harness and enhance their cricketing skills and help their children feel at home away from home.

All parents can be rest assured that the academy will help their respective children get fit, learn more about the game and most importantly, enhance skills directly related to the sport of cricket. The material sponsor of the academy is Pro Sports, a brand which all locals and particularly expatriates have become familiar to, as be it Cricket, Badminton, Darts, fitness related products and or sports related seminars, Pro Sports has gone on to become one of the leading distributors of some of the world’s most renowned sports brands that have a high demand in the market of Kuwait. Registration at the academy is a simple process and is available at a click away on indiansinkuwait.com. TACK is also planning to start transport facilities to and from the TACK Entertainment City Cricket Ground — Doha from the first week of February. For fees and any other queries that you may have, please do not hesitate to call the following numbers for more information or visit www.tac-kuwait.com / indiansinkuwait.com

Finally, TACK — IIK would also suggest and recommend parents to spend time at the academy itself as it is right next to the famous entertainment city which enables parents to ensure that any other children that they may have can be kept busy having fun while their siblings learn how to play a straight drive. Parents themselves can take a healthy approach to life too by attending the academy and by taking a pleasant brisk walk along the boundaries of this beautiful facility to keep fit, and support their children while they grow physically, and in the game of cricket too.
