Several charities ‘respond’ to Amir call to collect donations ‘Kuwait a leading country in humanitarian work’

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 19: Several charitable organizations and foundations have responded to the call made by HH the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al- Sabah to collect donations for Syrian refugees, reports Al-Seyassah daily. The daily added a number of charitable organizations collected donations in mosques at different parts of the country Friday after the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs allowed donations to be collected in the mosques.

The donation collectors have invited those who desire to donate to Syrian families for provision of shelter and other necessities of life, such as medical care to do so, indicating the cost of shelter and necessary furniture for a single family is KD 950.

They also said donors may provide flour, winter clothes and medical care for the injured with KD 100, noting it has become a pressing matter ever since the fighting intensified. Meanwhile, some preachers have urged Muslims to donate for the welfare of the brothers and sisters in Syria due to worsening situation in the country and extreme winter observed there.

The preachers expressed their gratitude and appreciation to HH the Amir, the government and people of Kuwait for their valuable contributions and relentless efforts to support Syrian refugees.
