Too early to judge new Cabinet: MP ‘Time not right for grillings’

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 19: MP Abdulrahman Al-Jeeran says it’s too early to evaluate the new Cabinet since the government hasn’t made any accomplishment to this point and “it’s necessary to give the ministers a chance to implement their programs”, adding the resentment over government’s structure is not new, reports Annahar daily.

He declared HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak is reliable and has the trust of HH the Amir and right to select whoever he finds suitable for ministry. He pointed out that grilling is a constitutional right for the lawmakers; nevertheless, grilling request isn’t honorable or glorious under the current situation in the local, territorial and international scenes, particularly if it will suspend the wheel of development and priorities the two authorities have agreed on.

He further indicated that Salafist bloc supports the naturalization of Bedouns once it’s in line with the Constitution, adding it’s an issue of sovereignty, revealing “I endeavor to prevent any law that opposes Islamic Sharia from being passed”. He also said some lawmakers commit mistakes and negative actions such as exchanging accusations, abuses, and improper statements defying the internal bylaw of parliament.
