Egyptian attempts to smuggle in drugs

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 15: An Egyptian expatriate was arrested at Kuwait International Airport for attempting to smuggle 300 narcotic pills into the country, reports Al-Seyassah daily. According to security sources, a customs officer suspected the expatriate who had arrived from Egypt on a work visa. When they checked him, they found 300 narcotic pills. The suspect insisted that he had no idea where the drugs came from and how it was in his luggage. He was arrested and referred with the drugs to the concerned authorities for further investigations.

Duo held with drugs: Two Kuwaiti citizens were arrested on Arabian Gulf Street for consuming alcohol and possessing marijuana and narcotic pills. According to security sources, Hawally securitymen were patrolling Arabian Gulf Street at night when they suspected a vehicle parked in front of a commercial complex with two occupants sitting inside it. They approached the vehicle and checked their Civil IDs to discover they are Kuwaiti citizens. Detecting the smell of alcohol from them, securitymen asked them to step out of the vehicle. While stepping out, a black bag fell from one of them. Securitymen checked the bag and found marijuana and narcotic pills. They were arrested and referred with the drugs to the Directorate General for Drug Control for necessary legal action against them. Meanwhile, a Lebanese expatriate in his 30s was arrested for consuming drugs and possessing narcotic pills, drug-intake tools and a knife. Security sources revealed that when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received information from the management of a commercial complex in Hawally area about an unconscious individual lying in front of the complex, Hawally securitymen rushed to the location. They discovered that the man lost consciousness due to consumption of drugs. They checked his Civil ID and discovered he is a Lebanese national in his 30s. They checked him to find narcotic pills, some tools used for drug consumption and a knife. They arrested him and referred him to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against him.

Drug addict nuisance: Police have arrested a Kuwaiti who is believed to be in his 40s for consuming drugs, reports Al-Shahed daily. The suspect was arrested after someone complained to the Operations Department of the Ministry of Interior that the man was harassing passersby near the Adan Cooperative Society. Police rushed to the spot, arrested him and handed him over to the concerned authorities.
