The containers found loaded with diesel cans seized
Bid to smuggle 0.5 m litres of diesel foiled

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 12:  Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have arrested a five-man gang (a Kuwaiti, a bedoun and three Arabs) for smuggling out of the country subsidized diesel, reports Al- Seyassah daily. According to security sources half-a-million liters of diesel was found concealed in 20 containers ready to be smuggled out of the country. Police investigations revealed a Kuwaiti had rented an industrial plot to carry out his illegal activity. The interrogations showed the men were adulterating the diesel and also forging the documents to show the Kuwaiti Petroleum Corporation that the diesel is second hand material and can be exported out of the country. The contraband was seized at the Shuwaikh Port which the suspects sold outside the country for double its value. The contraband and the suspects have been referred to the concerned authorities

Drug addicts held: Police arrested three drug addicts in Amghara for possessing narcotics, and referred them to the Drug Control General Department, reports Al- Watan Arabic daily. The three suspects aroused suspicion of the patrolmen when they became jittery at the sight of the officers. Three sachets of the drug ‘shabu’ were found after searching their car.
